High Resolution? Is it possible? (2013-06-14 21:26) grincer
Seems to work fine in low resolution, is it possible to run this on a 2Ghz Intel CPU in high resolution? Sound is always a bit choppy it seems here, with Soundblaster Pro selected.
crash - divide by zero error (2010-10-03 14:53) KC
For me Magic Carpet 2 runs smoothly until it crashes suddenly, giving a division by zero error.
Seems to work fine. (2009-10-03 09:59) darius.damalakas
I downloaded MC2 iso file, tried to start it with imgmount, but then the program cried, that it can not create setup folders. So i extracted my iso file. Then the game run, but no sound. So i started nwsetup.bat. Set the sound as in old good games (midi and soundblaster 16), and then the sound was ok :)
Version 0.73 - Problems with HighRes (2009-06-05 10:08) Xerosch
When I press "R" ingame the resolution should switch to SuperVGA. Instead the monitor turns black and stays like this until I stop Dosbox
Network Games (2008-03-24 00:05) Manton
Any idea if you can run a networked game of MC2 under Dosbox? Apparently you need to run the old NetBIOS program, which sounds a bit dubious.
how to fix "Error creating setup directories" (2008-02-18 14:25) nobody
you need to set the setup to find the right directorie just go to the readme in the Magic Carpet folder and read the part "MAGIC CARPET 2 ON NON C: LOCAL DRIVE" that will tell you what to do.
"Error creating setup directories" (2007-12-14 11:46) kystormhunter
That's the message I get as the game tries to load. Ideas?
running vbox .71 (2007-12-06 13:18) cornbread
it works fine in low graphics mode. I am wondering is there a way to reverse the mouse to make forward up? Also for some reason i remember being able to change altitude... Is it just me or is there a way to do this? when i look up and go forward i do not go up... TIA great game
works perfectly, so far. (2006-11-28 15:35) schweini
i just played about 10 levels yesterday night without any problems.
It was very slow at first, but then i changed 'core' to 'dynamic' and 'cycles' to 'auto' in dosbox.conf, and it runs like a charm, even in fullscreen mode. Really works great, running in low resolution on my Pentium 3, 1GHz, 256MB RAM Thinkpad under SUSE Linux 10.0, KDE 3.4. Really impressive!
Thanks!
Some issues with 0.65 (2006-10-28 14:20) robladdish
I had problems with the default graphics mode being choppy. Once I switched to a different render engine, it worked great. The core2/intel processor can run it in hi res mode fairly well. (slightly choppy)

I had problems on the final level where the game would frequently crash. Save often! Once I finished the level, I could not continue, it would hang when I tried to exit the level. This may be a game box and not related to dosbox, though I don't recall it when I played the game a long time back.
magic carpet (2006-07-11 10:07) hamadnukem

Works with 0.65 (2006-04-27 03:47) nsra1979
Works without crashes using Dynamic Core setting at 60,000 cycles in high resolution / full screen
works with 0.61 (2004-04-17 21:53) tensheapz
however the game goes slower and sound gets choppy
