If the game refuses to start, be sure to re-install it from the original disks. The game features a copy protection where it saves some BIOS settings when installed to the HDD. If those saved BIOS settings no longer match the actual system configuration, it will refuse to start. Examples of changes can include a change to floppy, hdd, serial, parallel ports or memory amount.
This is even mentioned in the README file included with the game. |
