yea, the need an vga mode is from the cracked version which I have not been able to get working. The file sizes for start.exe as well as the data files are different. Using an offical release, the game does work, but you have to keep your cpu cycles low or else things will fly and shoot too fast - around 3000 works at normal speed and the game is pretty enjoyable. Make sure you have the file permissions in your real OS set correctly (+w and such) or else that can cause some crashing errors. Also, if it can't write to this one file (it's been a while) then every mission will fail even if you win - just make sure you have write permission as the game modifies it's own files. Runs great! |

i got "need an vga mode" error.. it seems that i got cracked version since there are too many text screens before launch. |

i take back my vga complaint. i found my old floppies and installed it cleanly and the game runs great. it runs fine too, not too fast or too slow. no complaints at all, except i wish i knew the game's manual so i could get past the copyprotect, heh. |

both dosbox 0.60 (reported working by somebody else) and dosbox 0.63 run the game initially but the game quits on start up complaining that it "need an vga mode" (their grammar). |
