Play in SVGA with Cutscene-Sound (2016-01-27 13:36) Hoessi666
You must start the Game with the Command-Line-Switch "-2" to override the CD-Speed-Check ("f2b -2" without quotes).
By that way it always plays the Sound during the Cutscenes (no Single-Speed-Problem!) and you can set your cycles to a Speed that allows smooth SVGA-Play (I mostly use 150000 for 3D-Games with 640x400 or 640x480).
No more Cycle-Changing during a Game-Session necessary!
Combined solution (2015-03-16 11:35) Harkonnen604
Well, that 0.72 stereo patch did not work with 10'000 cycles solution to avoid no-sound-in-cutscenes, that works only with 0.74. Still, there is a solution by setting cycles as low as 500 (even 1'000 did not do the trick). So I had to set cycles=500, cycleup=10000, cycledown=10000 to start the game with 0.72-based stereo patch (inside 0.74 directory DLLs). As soon as "FADE TO BLACK 1.00 ...." line appeers it is safe to boost cycles to 120'000 using Ctrl-F12. That better be done in dosbox windowed mode (Alt-Tab) so you see cycles in window titlebar.
Swapped stereo (2015-03-16 10:57) Harkonnen604
That fix http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=15800&start=20#p136436 solves reversed stereo problem (you may need to register at that board to download exe). Though when I have put that dosbox.exe into my dosbox 0.72 folder I heard no sould at all, not even MIDI. That probably had problems with dll versions, so final solution was putting that modified exe into dosbox 0.74 directory (name it dosbox.stereo.exe for example). Also copy dosbox.conf from your 0.72 directory to 0.74 directory. That does the trick.
Cutscenes sound (2015-03-16 10:35) Harkonnen604
To avoid single-speed CD-ROM detected problem just drop CPU cycles to some 10'000-20'000 when the game starts, and intro video starts, boost it back to some 120'000 using ctrl-f12. That 120'000 value makes it playable with in-game speed limit turned off (F8) - useful to make dull corridor runs faster.
Cutscenes and Stereo Sound (2007-04-24 22:50) SteveP
I also have found the stereo sound channels are swapped.

I get a warning that I'm using a single-speed CD-ROM drive, and that sound will be disabled in cinematics.

(I'm using an imgmounted ISO, but got the same warning when using the CD)
Small problem with cut-scenes and stereo sound (2007-03-22 03:27) MiniMax
There seems to be a small problem with cut-scenes and swapped stereo channels in DOSBox 0.70.

Note: I haven't tried this game myself - I am reporting based on info in this thread.

For the cut-scenes to work, the trick seems to be either mounting the CD like this:

  Z:\> mount D X:\ -t cdrom -ioctl -usecd N

(where X is your real CD-drive, and N is the number reported by the 'mount -cd' command for drive X)

Or to create an BIN/CUE image of the CD and mount the image with:

  Z:\> imgmount D X:\path\to\cd-image\file -t iso

Dos32a (2006-11-29 04:03) ObiKenobi_1
I reccomend using dos32a cpu=dynamic for F2B
Runs very good! (2006-11-28 16:35) ObiKenobi_1
This great game now runs very good on DosBox 0.65, cycles are set around 12-13k or so maybe even less on my machine(XP 2000+ 1,6GhZ Ram 1 Gig). Sloooooooooow in hi-res but smooth in lo-res(maybe a bit slower than normal but ok with everything, runs just like it did on my old 486).
Note: (2004-03-04 08:17) Snake101
When trying to run, error message is given:
"Not enough files in config.sys!
14 found: please refer to install guide
Game might not load properly!
Do you want to continue anyway?"
When continuing DOSBox crashes.
