it was the midi. i can't play the cool midi music. it is due to my version. it is the german AITD Triolgie. I really like the readings, but i dislike the cd music! grrr. i want the cool midi music... |

Hello and thank ýou!
game works fine, but i like the adlib music better (or was it sound blaster pro) than the Sound Blaster. But i can't choose it in the hardware options. Anyone can fix this?

If you have the dosbox output as OpenGL, the game will stutter and max out your processor if you touch the sitting room ghost or the people in the ballroom.
However, with ddraw, the game works just fine! |

Congratulations, it works fantastic. Graphics, music, sounds and control. :-))) The only disadvantage: It runs too slow with enabled Sounds (FX). My Version: "Alone in the Dark german CD-Version" and my System: Windows XP german, Athlon XP 2500+, GeForce 3, Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS.

If I start it with cycles set much above 4000, music is turned off and cannot be turned back on. I can, however, start with 4000 cycles and add more later while keeping the music. Linux, DOSBox 0.63, floppy version of game. |

It plays well enough with only disadvantage that it does not play music. Only sound fx. |

In my Win XP under AMD 2400 MHz with 250 mb run it, but it's slow; and is a very common problem with games running under protected mode; the problem is, in older versions, like 0.58 or 0.60, doesn't run. |
