I am running Aces of the Pacific: 1946 under DOSBox version 0.74, but there is a problem.
I have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick with a USB interface. I have been told by several "trolls" that if I just set up for this joystick in the DOSBox Config file, it will simulate a "traditional" Game Port Joystick and it will work okay. Well, I did that and even tried different joystick parameters and I never got any response(by AOTP:1946) from the joystick.
Given that my host system(running Ubuntu Linux 12.04-LTS/AMD-64 architecture) does not have a hardware Game Port, can anyone suggest a USB joystick which might support the type of simulation which I am attempting here?
I am expecting--but not happily--several suggestions that I just do what I did before.
AOTP:1946 works okay with my Logitech USB TrackBall set up, but a real joystick would be much more satisfactory--if it worked.

flying as Japanese Army Air Corps... if I rack up enough kills to get their highest decoration... upon transitioning from the decoration screen back to the pre-flight menu ("fly next mission" etc.) the game crashes to prompt.... |

Classic Dynamix flight sims, flies great. Must be installed (when using collection CDs) using the Windows routines, then copy the folder to your DosBox mounted drive. |

The installer manages to create the proper directories, but it does not copy any files. It gives the following error:
Error opening redirection file for 'cd .. > nul'
This is using the version from the "Aces Collection" compact disc. |
