With fps like 7-5 on P4 3000 it's not playable :( latest repository version
DosBox 0.65 (2007-02-20 03:52) ObiKenobi_1
core= dynamic
cycles= 50k - 70k
dos32a

game is fully playable on an athlon xp 2000+ (1.6 ghz) but it's slow (it's like having tomb raider to work on a 486 66Mhz)
Ignore Dos Game Player (2006-02-07 12:19) red_avatar
I was able to play Tomb Raider at 25fps on average, with 75000 cycles, using latest CVS. That's WITH sound and CD music! Game is excellent, and still fun to play.
You are really wasting your time. (2005-08-21 23:08) Dos Game Player
Use vdmsound. Its the only way to make it playable.
average (2005-03-11 11:37) TRfan
I'm using DOSBox 0.63
I have a Pentium 4 HT at 2.4 GHz and Tomb Raider runs at 1 - 2 fps.
I can't enable digital sound (like shots), only environment sound (it's played directy from CD).
The movies are missing, it's simply skipped when start to play.
The game isn't playable, because fps are too low.
hi ihr ärsch (2004-10-29 08:34) schmbenj
ihr Ärsche
wo zieht man sich bitte die Scheiße von tombraider runter. a leckts mi do am arsch
improvement is visible (2004-10-02 04:45) stingray
tomb raider 1 still isn't fully playable with dosbox 0.62, though sound and graphics are working all right the fps are still around 5-8 (fps estimated, pentium m 1,5ghz, 512mb ram) which would mean an performance-improvement by the factor 2 to 4. anyway, improvement is visible and i guess with a couple more dosbox-versions to go one can actually play (and enjoy) it.

The game works in DOSBox 0.61 but it is too slow to play, at least on my system (Pentium III Tualatin 1.2GHz, 512MB of RAM).
Works here (2004-01-05 11:19) Mictlantecuhtli
BeOS R5.0.3 Pro, dosbox-0.60
