Command & Conquer, abbreviated to C&C and also known as "Tiberian Dawn",[3][4][5] is a 1995 real-time strategy computer game developed by Westwood Studios for MS-DOS and published by Virgin Interactive. It was the first of twelve games to date to be released under the Command & Conquer label

The DOS version works under DOSBox, but the Windows version may be preferable.
A Vista-compatible version is included in EA's Command & Conquer: The First Decade. However, it has a several minor and major issues out of the box. A guide to these issues and how to fix them may be read here.

- 29 May 2010 by NaSH:
- Tested the DOS version on Ubuntu 10.04, with dosbox 0.74 compiled from source (make & checkinstall)
- auto detect sound didn't work in setup. used soudblaster 16/awe32 for digital sound
- then works fine with sound
