This is the original DOS Stronghold from SSI, not the later Stronghold castle game. Works straight up in DOSBox on Linux (Ubuntu 8.10 and 7.10, FC9, probably most others), it'll be slow at times unless you up the cycles to around 12,000 or so. A small frameskip might help as well if your host machine isn't particularly fast (<2GHz single-core).
