Doesn't require anything special to work. Just mount the directory where you have Warcraft installed and then start WAR.EXE. Run SETUP.EXE first so that you don't have to type in a word from the manual every time.
Multiplayer
If multiplayer runs slow, use IPX (network mode in multiplayer menu) and run the game with the pktspeed set to the highest ping of all the players.
To ping the other players after they connected, run
ipxnet ping
Example: if the ping is 100ms, run
war pktspeed=100
