Strangely enough, I did not experience the same problems as some other users here. For me, it works just as well as under previous versions, may be even a bit faster. Normal core, 7500 cycles, P4 (2.8 GHz), no DOS32A. Note there are several versions of the game with slight differences where bugs and features are concerned. I seem to be playing the very first version. It has some (known) bugs, but no nag screens. |

I wrote a long post describing this bug, but this webapp lost the form content when I submitted..
Quick advice: Save game often while playing, it freezes at some point within a few mnutes to an hour every play session, and sometimes "Save Game" silently fails"
I've lost so much "play work" this weekend that I've given up entirely on trying to play Civ. The game is enough of a grind before having to do the grind repeatedly after a crash!

The bug manifests itself also on 0.63 on an amd athlon-mp machine, exactly as Rambeau said.
The number of credits left is 30719, 77FF in hex.
Might be worth checking if there's something dumping that pattern that overwrites game memory.
The amount clears itself to 30000 if the game is running with CPU cycles set at 3000, but only clears itself on turn change if CPU cycles is set at a lower value. |

Hello
I am playing Civ 2.01 in dosbox 0.63 on Ubuntu Linux/PPC. It seems to work perfectly, except when I buy city improvements with money from my treasury, I suddenly have over 30,000 in my treasury, from about 50 before hand! If I don't want to spoil the game, it means I can't buy any city improvements.
