Did a quick check and it ran no problem at all with the same set up as Underworld 2
Check was:

Drag and drop the UW directory to my HD games directory

Open DOSBox 0.73

Run uintall.exe in the HD directory for UW to set sound - accept Soundblaster for all

Accept settings ignoring path shown!

Run the Game UW.exe

Mine has fixed cycles at 15000 in the DOSBox configeration so you may need to speed them up if you have the default Auto setting or something else.

This game works fine, you may have up to up the cycles a bit to make it run smooth. Make sure you setup sound etc. before trying to play it as always.

The twin pack CD UWI and UWII works fine - Copy the files/directories manually where you want them and run Uinstall.exe to setup sound if your settings for Dosbox are not the default. Ignore the Path as on mine it shows installation to the Root of C:. Runs jerky unless you up the cycles (Repeat key input Control + F12 until it is running smooth). I find half a dozen times seems to do the trick and do so at the game startup screen. If using fixed cycles mine is OK using Cycles=Fixed 15000 as I use this on a number of games to avois adjusting cycles with each game! Auto didin't work so well on my game choices.

I believe the only real difference is the Super VGA version offers a slightly better resolution and is the one to get, it seems to be the one usually offered for download. (I used to have the basic one but now have the SVGA version)

Works on DOSBox 0.73

Some DOSBox Configuration Edits may be needed from the default:
Joystick in the DOSBox configuration needs to be set Timed=False (otherwise your stick won't work or calibrate!)
Cycles=Auto may give you a very sensitive Joystick. Try Cycles=Fixed 15000 and then tweak it as it suites you.

The manual (It is essential due to "in game" help not being there) is not included in most Game downloads. So you need to download separately from where ever you can find it. I had no joy using AV8B harrier assault in my search engine, but found several once I put the hyphen in AV-8B

Superb flight model, and pretty good strategic gameplay. Graphic typical for period

I believe the only real difference is the Super VGA version offers a slightly better resolution and is the one to get, it seems to be the one usually offered for download. (I used to have the basic one but now have the SVGA version)

(The domark game) Runs on DOSBox 0.73 OK. The manual (essential) can be downloaded separately. I did not find it until I put the hyphen in the AV-8b for the search engine. There are two DOS versions of the game, the Super VGA version is the one to use for the slightly better graphics. The manual is the same for both versions.

I went in and out of the Dosbox configeration until I got it OK. The Joystick set up needs to use the old setting of timed=false so that it works in game and can be calibrated (I use a modern USB stick, rudder and throttle setup). The Cycles=Auto setting did not work for me as it ran too fast. I adjusted it until I was happy at Cycles=Fixed 15000. You can set it much higher but the Joystick will get more sensitive. I'm not sure how these "cycles" will work on other PC's

Mouse calibration in game is Control + M otherwise you may find your mouse creeping away on its own!

Anyone with some experience of this game in Dosbox please add any other findings that may be useful.

(The domark game) I have been setting this up to run on DOSBox and it seems OK. (Not having the game manual is not helpful!) I used to play it, so it's just a case of a bit of trial and error until I get all the keys identified. Especially the need to use the shift key with top number keys or - & + to adjust the nozzle angle. (Without shift they will adjust throttle).

I have been in and out of the Dosbox configeration and it now seems OK. The Joystick set up needs to use the old setting of timed=false so that it works in game and can be calibrated (I use a modern USB stick, rudder and throttle setup). A run away mouse in the game is stopped by using Control + M after that it seems to be saved in the game config and isn't a problem again. The Cycles=Auto setting did no work for me as it ran too fast. I adjusted it until I was happy at Cycles=Fixed 30000 (twice what I run Underworld 2 at). You can set it higher but the Joystick tends to get a bit too sensitive. I'm not sure how these "cycles" would work on other PC's
