"On Windows 7, there appears to be an issue with MIDI playback, where the incorrect MIDI patches are played (tubular bells where there should be a brass ensemble, for example)."
This would be because the wrong sound driver was was specified in the RESOURCE.CFG file, probably the MT-32 driver (the default) was selected without an MT-32 unit.
