xcopy to install (2013-04-23 00:35) a tobe of hades
game works best if you use xcopy d:uw c:uw /e/s (replace c: with drive of choice) however, it will occasionally crash if you run the Uinstall program outside of Dosbox. It also lags from time to time. Even if you get your selected sound drivers and it says "installation complete" if it doesn't detect those drivers the game could crash during gameplay or during character creation. I would set up the sound via Uinstall within Dosbox, not the command prompt-even though it is usually recommended to set games up outside of Dosbox, UW and UW2 are the exceptions.
Works (with tweaks) (2012-08-31 04:09) Firebrand
Worked fine, but sound was clicking occasionally which was very annoying. To fix, I changed the following 2 lines from :
prebuffer=10
blocksize=4096

To :
blocksize=2048
prebuffer=50

This corrected the problem and the game now operates as I played it in actual DOS w/ SBPRO 2.
0.71 supported (2007-08-19 02:55) Rasputin
Works great with DOSBox 0.71.
- "Electronic Arts CD-ROM Classics" version of Ultima Underworld I + II
- CD-ROM-Version uses a wrapper and leaves files on CD
- --> copy files manually, use UINSTALL.EXE for sound setup
- dosbox.conf: change cycles=auto to cycles=max for less flicker
xms support (2006-06-08 09:44) j33ptv
I've been having some trouble with xms memory support, it says that it doesn't offer it when I install the game, "yes it is turned on in the dosbox.conf" also when I try to converse with the in game characters it crashes out and give me error #d012 what is error d012
Work great in 0.63 (2005-12-12 21:12) Dunbine
Work great with sound, music and voice(at the beginning animation)! 'UINSTALL.EXE' is the setup program, not uninstall program. I am playing the one comes with the Ultima Underworld 1+2 CD.
Supported 0.62 (2004-10-05 16:47) MustardCat
Works with DOSBox 0.62. About 1/4 way through, this game is awesome!
Definitely supported (2003-10-28 23:33) Greyhawk
This game rocks in DosBox. I'm half-way through the game, without any problems/crashes. I'm using the version that comes on "The Ultimate RPG Archives" set, which already has the latest patch on it.

There is one bug, and it is in the installation. No files are copied, but folders are created. DosBox doesn't support xcopy, which is what the installer uses.
