Bio Menace Episode 3 - Master Cain remains broken in DOSBox 0.74. I've tried the patch that comes with the game, and two from this forum thread http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=11661

Bio Menace Episode 3 - Master Cain hangs at the first screen showing which hardware is supported. The first two episodes work fine without any patching.

I finding BioMenace works great with no patch in dosbox70 I have no game crashes when I shot bad guys.

BioMenace crashes as soon as you kill an enemy in Dosbox 0.65. To fix this, run bmfix.com before running any of the BioMenace episodes. You can get bmfix.com from this forum thread

DOSBox CVS (08/20/2005), BioPatch.exe not required under XP! (2005-08-20 14:22)

I have just tried running the first episode of BioMenace using DOSBox CVS 08/20/2005 under Windows XP w/SP2 and with and then without BioPatch.exe (mentioned above), and I'm very pleased to say that this game works 100% both times (for me anyway).

(I grabed this CVS version of DOSBox at http://ykhwong.x-y.net/. While your at it, go and check out DOSBox's official CVS repository at it's official project page (http://sourceforge.net/projects/dosbox/).

After patchiing it works 100%. I've got the same problem few years ago when I was having old 133 mhz, so I think it's a game bug :)

Found a post on the DOSBox forum awhile back about this but forgot to add a comment here ...

The post by Finster included a .exe file that you run before running Bio Menace in DOSBox which fixes the problem. You can download it at:

The zip file includes instructions if they're necessary ;)

It almost worked. I killed 3 aliens and got a key, but when i got the key, the game frozed. It might say "Iillgal Command" when you put the STACKS thing in. Just try to put the STACKS in a Differ part in the Config file.

Try the putting the "Stacks" thing at the bottom of the config file of the DosBox. It a 50-50 percent chance of getting the game to work.

In the BM-HELP.EXE file which comes with the game it says:

I'm not sure exactly what that means (never knew exactly what the "stacks" line in the config file was for!). Is there any way to do this in DosBox? At least it may provide a clue to the lockup problems .....

Yup, unfortunately this game locks up soon after you kill the first enemy.

It works ok as long as you don't kill or get hit by an alien. But it freezes and the music keeps playing and the game is frozed. So the DosBox won't close in version 0.61.

The game engine works 100%
But when I press the shoot button, the game freezes and exits. This is the same problem as I have got with some Windows versions running BioMenace. But then the "Illegal Operation" message are showing up instead.
