Cannot type numbers (2014-07-23 12:45) |

Alright, found out that I had to comment out usescancodes=false in the dosbox conf. |

I seem not to be able to type numbers in game. I use an azerty keyboard layout, which is recognized, but if I touch anything else than the letters, nothing happens or the wrong thing comes out. I'm running an Ubuntu 14.04 on linux. I use the startup config that steam provides for running it. The keyboard setting there was auto, but even when I changed it for example to us to check whether the numbers would then be recognized, it seems to stay on that half-working azerty version. Anybody an idea? |

I changed the default settings in the options
[dosbox]
...
machine=svga_s3 to svga_et4000
and the game doesn't start with this setting. |

In addition to what miarf posted, I would like to add a little something.
Be sure to check the cd-rom tab in the in-game config window.
To access it, click the config button on the auxiliary panel, inside the game.
Better do it right after game starts (i.e. do it before you start the new game).
If you mounted everything correctly in dosbox you should see six cd-rom drives.
Change drive letters to whichever drive letters you have assigned in your conf file, remembering not to mess the drives order, given in the aforementioned conf file (as new problems might arise because of this).
Click the test button next to each drive and you should be all set.
A lot of people had problem with playing PD of the the hard drive because of this, as I've observed on various forums. |

With 0.73 no problem. Tested with a i7 860 @ 2.8 GhZ. Cycles: 80000 - 100000, Cpu Core = Dynamic |

Instructions for 0.72 (2009-01-13 19:26) |

The easiest way to play without swapping CDs is this:
1. Copy the contents of each CD into a separate folder, like PANDORA1, PANDORA2, etc.
2. Mount each folder as the respective CD, using the -label parameter, like this, for example:
mount d c:pandcdsPANDORA1 -T cdrom -label PANDORA1
mount e c:pandcdsPANDORA2 -T cdrom -label PANDORA2
mount f c:pandcdsPANDORA3 -T cdrom -label PANDORA3
and so on...
(Creating a .bat file that launches dosbox with a separate .conf file with all those mounted drives in autoexec is probably a good idea...)
Game works fine with the default configuration file of DOSBox 0.72, if you have sufficient CPU power. Using cycles=auto gives erratic performance, setting it to somewhere around 20000-80000 is makes gameplay smooth (on 3Ghz Core 2 Duo at least). Confirmed with the patched version of the game.
In the game's audio configuration use sb16 for good quality sound, with port 220, irq 7, dma 5.
Use whatever music card sounds best.

Install works fine in DOSBox but then the game keeps asking for the CD to be inserted (even if it is) and refuses to run. |
