sound issue (2011-02-26 22:34) |

I had to use Sound Blaster and "manually" set the address to 0x220, IRQ to 7, DMA to 1 and use 8-bit mixing (in the setup.exe). Other than that, worked like a charm. |

Works fine IF YOU RUN SETUP AND SELECT VESA (2008-11-16 18:48) |

For me, trying to run the game in the default VGA mode is an absolute disaster - it glitches and drops frames all the time.
As soon as I run SETUP, select SCREEN SETUP, and choose a high res VESA mode, it's just fine (on a 2.6 GHz Core2Duo, YMMV). |

Works fine if you got a good PC (2008-06-23 23:26) |

I ran this game at highest settings with sound blaster AWE32 as the sound, and General MIDI, and it ran great. However on a 1.5 ghz and 768MB of RAM, it runs horribly. |

Windows XP - 2.4 GHz P4 - 128MB vid card. All set to Auto/Fullscreen, SoundBlaster support.
This is DOS game - WILL run in SVGA modes, just have to select them in game's setup program. |

Work great in 0.63 (2005-12-12 19:58) |

My Atomic Edition run OK in my AMD 3200+ throught DOSBox 0.63, although it's a little bit slow. Don't forget to get the sound fix and v1.5 update patches. There is also an excellent port of Duke3d to the Win32 platform called 'Duke3d_w32'. It run in my WinXP at 1280x1024 (yes, you can set over than 800x600) for over 100 fps. Surface, overlay, opengllnb and maybe ddraw
with Dynamic CPU core and 16500 cycles in 640x480 full screen, and you can play Duke3D version 1.3D with little lag now and then.
I dont think version 1.4 (Plutonium/Atomic Edition) episode 4 will run very well (haven't try'ed it yet) |

Works. But doesn't run very well. Run it at smallest window (keep pressing minus), turn off sound, turn off details, and it gets runnable. |
