solution to missing files (2020-12-20 21:35) Redeagle
I stumbled across the same problem. But I just copied the whole _MA folder to HD and that solved the problem.
Also copy the and _SCITEK folder, otherwise the game crashes when you hit the Info button in the blueprint-shop.
Using Original CD but haveing problems (2012-11-24 11:27) Taldare
I am using an Original CD but the sci-tek system is not working correctly. When I click on a item section (ie, missles) the program will crash with the error message "ERROR: Whilst opening "_MA_MA : No such file or directory". I have tried to fix this by adding a copy of the _MA file into the _MA file but the program still has the same proplem only this time it reports that access is denied. Is their a work around for this?
Load Original Version Without CD (2006-12-27 19:36) Dewlap

How to run original game without CD

Install game to folder C:\Fragile\ (Choose maximum installation size)

Select Sound Blaster for sound and music card, don't worry if card not found.

Copy missing (or all) files from CD FOLDER "_INTRO" to HD folder of same name.

Copy disk ID "FRAGILE.ID" from the CD to the folder C:\Fragile\

Use DOSBox Emulator load disk as follows:
Mount C c:\Fragile\
Mount D c:\Fragile\ -t cdrom

I know this is not an actual CD Rom but it fools the game when it checks for the CD.

Make sure to edit the "CONFIG.INI" file to insure the "SourcePath=D:" line indicates that drive "D" is the source.

Run game.

The original CD version works great.
Please, if you are using the "ripped" version floating around on certain websites, DO NOT POST YOUR PROBLEMS HERE. The ripped versions has many aspects of the game missing, causing it to crash at certain places. This is not the fault of Dosbox.
