Run without CD in v 0.74 (2010-08-17 12:45) Flyer
See previous post for 0.70 for Simon.bat changes. In Turbo Dos Box, change second mount to;
type | cdrom
iso | no
local | C:
remote | C
and don't forget to save the config file.
Completed in v0.70 (2007-05-13 12:13) Squeaks
I just completed the game on a P4 2.8GHz with all files installed to the hard drive and the game ran perfectly with little or no adjustment. To get the game to run without the CD copy all files to your "Simon" directory and mount it in DosBox so that it reads as c:\Simon. Then edit Simon.bat to read:

Soundrv (line 4)
Runvga /c:\simon\ /1 simon.voc effects.voc simon.gme (line 5)
Soundrv u (line 6)
DOSBox version 0.63 (2005-09-28 02:44) Funrunner
Congratulations, it works fine. Graphics, music, sounds and control. :-))) My Version: "Simon the Sorcerer german CD-Version" and my System: Windows XP german, Athlon XP 2500+, GeForce 3, Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS.
Works okay (2005-05-28 09:52) FirstChild
It works all right in my 0.63, although I have to wait for the credits to play at least a while before skipping ahead to the game itself, because if I press the right mouse button too early, the game will not give me the command bar, and I cannot even exit the game. (That may be a version or other problem, though.) Nevertheless, there are no problems related to DOSBox.
DOsBox Version 0.61 Supported (2004-10-14 11:56) mrsjaen
