I don’t think we can call this game 100% supported. It has Vsync tearing issues with DOSBox that VDMSound doesn’t have. |

I solved the heap issue. You must create a new ISO for disc 3, removing EFW4.SMK and EFT5S.SMK. Detailed instructions at http://portingteam.com/files/file/7401-ripper/ |

Hi guys,
I like to re-open this post about the game. Also I've came to the monkey lab and have the same error. I've tried to debug the error as far as I have some knowledge about doin' that and I have one log file with all the instructions and what cause the game to crash and second I have another message which the game throw if in the dosbox conf file u comment the "exit" command.
This is the heap error: Error Allocating 536911984 bytes (1990476 left) in heap Main heap
Can someone help how this can be bypassed?

There is still a problem with Ripper. I can't pass the secret lab. No matter what I try in "options" of the game or in the config of DOSBox. It's been more than 3 years since someone posted here: no answer?

When i run Ripper...all the intro works and the video sequences with the police leaving the scene.
But when these have finished, and the game interface appears, all the graphics are squashed into two thick lines at the top of the screen.
What's has happened? How can I fix this?

Soundcard settings: SB16,P:220,I:7,16bit,DMA:5
The game is working perfectly fine in DOSBox. The installer and game need to be started with the option "-vga". After creating images of the 6 game CDs, the game also can be played from these images with no more need to swap the CDs in the drive when playing. Simply mount the images to drives D,E,F,G,H,I in DOSBox and then assign these drives in the game installation options (CD settings).

The game installs and runs without any single problem!It runs also excellent and it is fully playable.You don't need any more to copy the "Install" folder from the CD to get a clear screen/picture.But don't forget to add the updates after the installation in order to update the version of the game. |

Copy INSTALL folder from CD1 to HDD. Apply 1.03 patch. Apply 1.05 patch. Run SETUPV.BAT. Run RIPPER.EXE /v /v3.
