Hex Editing L2.RKO to Fix Lem 2's Issues for Dosbox 0.74-3 (2023-07-16 14:22) |

The following steps will allow you to play more than one level of each tribe, as well as allow you to save your game properly:
1) Outside of Dosbox 0.74-3, navigate to your Lemmings 2 folder and open the file L2.RKO in a hex editor.
2) Scroll between hex offsets 69E0 and 69F0, specifically the hex address range 0x69EF through 0x69F3, then find the hex byte sequence 74 0E C7 06 0B.
3) Replace 74 with EB, then replace 0E with 23.
4) You will now have the hexadecimal sequence EB 23 C7 06 0B.
5) Save L2.RKO in the hex editor.
6) Open Dosbox 0.74-3, navigate to your Lemmings 2 folder, and run the game executable L2.EXE as normal.
Note: My other comment about playing Lemmings 2 without cracks also resolves the issues of not being able to play past the first level of each tribe and not being able to save normally as well. |

1) Outside of DOSbox 0.74-3, navigate to your Lemmings 2: The Tribes game folder.
2) Open the file L2.INI in your text editor of choice.
3) Change the Bios value to 732, then change the Boot value to 0.
4) Save and close the L2.INI file.
5) Re-open DOSbox 0.74-3, navigate to your Lemmings 2: The Tribes game folder, and run L2.EXE as normal. |

Can anyone help me to find the patch that fixes the Save/Load/Prefs issue mentioned below?
I can play the game but cannot access these items in the menu. I cannot find the fix that everyone is talking about... |

DosBox needs to see this game in C:\ so mount the game's directory at that point.
L2.EXE won't run the full game. You'll need to run a file called: L2-FIX.COM
Fullscreen crashes if it loses focus. So close apps that could steal focus and switch off screensaver. Or, run in a window.
Frameskip is devastating to gameplay, set to 0.
Dynamic Core, 10,000 cycles works great on my P4 Centrino 2.8z.

Dosbox 0.62 runs this game without any problems on my flat mates computer. On mine, I get a segmentation fault if I try to run it with sound enabled. |

I had this problem first too... but then I looked again and found another abandonware of Lemmings 2 The Tribes... which contained a fix for this problem (seems to be like a copy protection or somethinng)... |
