This PCJR Game appears to freeze and was not be played and just be broken right and never loaded up. No works on RISCOS 5 (??!!). |

It seems that the BOOT Version of this game uses the CPU clock of the PC-jr for timing.
I adjusted the cycles of the game to a really low number 100 vs 3000 and it still plays very very fast if I adjust it lower it does funky stuff with the graphics but it is now playable and the graphics are viewable vs non-existant like before.
I'd call this 98% playable as if you do not have quick reflexes you can end up in a place in the game you do not want to be in.
In the later versions of this game they do have a game speed selection and those versions play 100% no mods needed.

The game will load to the title "TEXT ONLY" but no graphics or sound.
You can input commands and or move but again no graphics your character will end up falling in the moat but you will never see it.
This was an image dump from an original PCJR disk that works in an actual PCJR. The image has also been used to create a 360K disk that is also playable in a real PCJR.
Tested with MACHINE=PCJR, MACHINE=TANDY and the default SVGA_S3
All 3 produce the same result. |
