Try different sound settings normally it would be sound blaster 220 irq 5 dma 1 etc...
Sound? (2012-06-06 14:51) EuroVWGTi
How do you get the sound to work? The settings are set to sb16. Is there something I'm missing with the detailed setting?
Worked right freakin' away (2008-03-26 00:16) kevinbg
I downloaded DOSBOX, and then Heretic, and it worked right away. From start of DOSBOX download to start of Heretic was about 5 minutes, and that included installing Heretic! Great job guys.
Heretic in Doomsday (2007-03-26 08:33) marco75
I thoroughly recommend you play this in the Doomsday engine, there is full 3D model support (and somebody went to all the trouble to make those models!), high resolution, and cool ice candy.

DOSBox is good for reviving games that are not otherwise accessible, but if there is a port of the original source to modern hardware, use the port!
It works! (2006-08-01 03:25) Seriously
Works very well on my AMD Sempron 2300 with 256MB RAM and nvidia geforce4 mx 4000 graphics... Better results on DOSBOX 0.65 than on 0.63 frameskip=1
Flawless on 0.62 (2004-11-03 11:34) Weevil
Heretic runs flawlessly on 0.62. For decent speed, CPU cycles needs to be set to at least 10,000.
RE:@Rayonic (2004-10-08 06:18) Essie
Tricrokra, did you increase the cpu cycles?
doesn't work (2004-05-09 07:22) Max the Fire Raven
As soon as it starts (I get the menu and music) the games crashes with "v bad patch" error. 0.61 used.
@Rayonic (2003-10-27 09:54) Tricrokra
I really wonder what "Flawless" means to you!
No detectable bugs but SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, unbelievable... And that is a big flaw to me...

Don't tell me my my brand new PC is too slow!
Works! (2003-10-18 15:04) Rayonic
Works flawlessly, no detectable graphic or audio bugs. (Practically) playable with frameskip=2 on a Athlon 1700+.
