Sorry to reply to my own post...
I changed the graphics type to Tandy and this solved the problem.

Has anyone seen this? When I run the game the stats on the main screen do not update correctly. The stats start out blue and then go gray when they decrease. However, when the decrease, the blue text does not disappear making it very hard to read the current stats.

This game will run very very fast. To enjoy it you gotta lower the cycles A LOT. I have mine down to 425 cycles, anything above 500 (on my system at least) will make it difficult to read the quest text-box messages.
